Fosroc’s Concure range - concrete curing solutions for diverse applications
Fosroc's Concure products encompass a range of concrete curing compounds, alll designed to retain moisture in freshly laid concrete, for effective curing and to prevent cracking.
The Concure range includes six high performing products, each with specific applications and properties.
The crucial role of concrete curing
Correct curing is essential for concrete strength and durability. Traditionally, this meant ponding with water, covering with wet hessian or sand, or laying down polythene sheeting — all cumbersome, messy and often hazardous methods. Fortunately, times have changed, explains Fosroc's Product Segment Specialist - Flooring and Coatings, Andrew Nelson.
"Contemporary construction projects have widely shifted to spray- or roller-applied curing compounds — such as Fosroc's Concure range — which offer safer, more convenient and effective moisture retention, ready for follow-on trades," Andrew says.
Fosroc Concure: meeting Australian standards
In Australia, compliance with AS3600 (Concrete Structures) requires that concrete is adequately cured to minimise cracking and achieve its design performance. Curing compounds must also meet AS3799, the Australian Standard for curing compounds. This sets a benchmark for minimum application rates and demands that compounds retain at least 90% of the moisture needed for proper hydration.
"Fosroc’s Concure range fully complies with AS3799, giving contractors peace of mind on compliance and quality," Andrew says.
A curing solution for every situation
Fosroc’s Concure range offers curing agents based on different resins, giving applicators and specifiers flexibility to choose the best fit for their project environment and subsequent construction requirements.
- Concure A99 is an acrylic water-based curing compound that’s highly durable and doesn’t yellow in sunlight, making it ideal for surfaces exposed for longer periods. It’s also certified to AS4020:2018, so it’s safe for use on concrete that may come into contact with potable (drinking) water. Find out more on the Concure A99 product page.
- Concure X90 uses a hydrocarbon resin, also water-based. It breaks down under UV light and gradually powders away, so it's perfect for outdoor slabs where you want the curing membrane to disappear naturally, avoiding the need for future removal. Find out more on the Concure X90 product page.
- Concure WB30 is a wax-based product that leaves a persistent film, useful for specialised applications like roads or slip-form paving where you want the cured concrete layers to act independently. Its tenacious layer prevents subsequent concrete pours from bonding directly, supporting structural movement where needed. Find out more on the Concure WB30 product page.
- Concure CR, a chlorinated rubber solvent-based system, offers rapid film formation and provides robust performance. Find out more on the Concure CR product page.
- Concure B90 is a bitumen-based curing compound, specially formulated for cases where bitumen overlays will be applied later — for example, on bridge decks. Find out more on the Concure B90 product page.
- Finally, Concure AV. This product is not a curing agent but an evaporation retardant, sprayed on after bull floating to protect fresh concrete from rapid moisture loss before final finishing. Its alcohol-based formula temporarily reduces evaporation without interfering with trowelling or subsequent curing. Find out more on the Concure AV product page.

Practical benefits on today’s construction sites
Andrew says water-based curing compounds like Concure A99, Concure X90 and Concure WB30 deliver equivalent performance to solvent systems, with added benefits in safety, storage, transport and clean-up.
"Many projects today favour low-VOC, water-based curing products, because of their easier handling and reduced environmental impact," he says.
Fosroc’s Concure range is also prized for its convenience: simply spray or roll on, achieving immediate coverage even on vertical surfaces or hard-to-access repair areas where plastic sheeting would be impractical.
What about concrete repairs?
As well as new concrete pours, Fosroc's Concure range is widely used for concrete repairs. For example, it is ideal for use after applying a patch repair mortar such as Renderoc HB25 or Renderoc HB40.
"When scaffolding or rope access is involved, a quick spray application of Concure ensures essential curing without the hassle of tying down sheets."
Trusted performance, every time
Whether you require a film that breaks down under sunlight, stays intact to prevent bonding, or complies with potable water standards, there’s a Concure product to suit.
With full compliance to AS3799, a track record of use across Australia, and the backing of Fosroc’s technical expertise, the Concure range is a top choice for concrete contractors, applicators and specifiers aiming to secure the long-term performance of their work.
