More than 30 years' experience in new construction and remediation, renovation and repair has armed Craig Simmons with deep technical knowledge across the full spectrum of concrete repair, grouts, waterproofing, flooring and coatings. As Fosroc ANZ National Training Manager, his mission is to share his extensive knowledge with our valued clients across the nation.
A French Polisher by trade, Craig’s early career saw him specialising in skills requiring fine preparation work and careful restoration. This foundation led him to embark on his long-standing career with the DuluxGroup, where he has held roles covering all aspects of sales, training and technical support.
“I’ve worked across a diverse set of products over the years, but in the end, coatings are coatings,” Craig says. “The expertise lies in the study of microns, film weights, volume solids and so forth. It all relates.”
Boosting applicator knowledge and skills
Craig maintains a busy schedule to meet the rapidly growing national demand for Fosroc ANZ products and specifications. Based in Sydney, he travels interstate over 2 to 3 weeks every month. He delivers hands-on training seminars to groups of 6 to 12 customers, including applicators, resellers, agents, sales staff and engineers. Add in some one-on-one training along the way, and you can understand how Craig delivered product training to more than 800 customers in 2025 alone!
“I really enjoy working with people. It’s so rewarding to see our customers and applicators learn new information, achieve a new task and leave the session feeling more confident than when they came in,” he says.
Certification for quality assurance
Craig is responding to the growing importance of certification for applicators working in new construction or renovation and repair. Correct preparation and application is critical to the long-term performance of every Fosroc ANZ product, with government and large corporations increasingly requiring applicators to be certified.
“Our products are specified for many major new projects and infrastructure, from hospitals, train stations, airports and bridges to basements and commercial kitchens and bathrooms,” Craig explains. “Major asset owners like state government transport departments and major metropolitan water authorities want to make sure the contractors on site are proficient. Certification provides large corporations and government bodies with quality assurance for long lasting durability".
Engineered for versatility and efficiency
Fosroc ANZ products and solutions are valued across the construction industry for their many industry-leading benefits. Craig notes the importance of versatility in use and application, citing two of his favourite products in the Fosroc ANZ range.
“Renderoc LA55 Plus is a micro-concrete repair mortar that works for such a diverse range of concrete repair projects. Similarly, Nitoflor FC150HP-SL has the versatility to be spread as thin as 400um as a roll coat, all the way up to 4mm as a self-leveller. Applicators can save so much time by using the same bucket for multiple uses.”

Craig encourages industry professionals to reach out for training to enhance their understanding and capabilities in concrete repair, grouting, industrial flooring, waterproofing and joint sealants. Interactive training is available on-site or at the Fosroc training centres in Padstow in NSW, or Rocklea in Queensland.
“Our product technology is second to none, and we have many talented and helpful people within the Fosroc ANZ group who provide support and create solutions,” Craig says. “Our customers should take advantage of this support to help them achieve the very best results on all their projects.”
